These are two new pieces of work to add to my ' Collection of Rarities ' series they are called 'Small Beginnings #1' & 'Small Beginnings #2', each measures approximately 20cm x 20cm. Based on micro-organisms where all life begins......
My 'Collection of Rarities' series has been influenced by botanic illustrations of the late nineteenth century and inspired by the Victorian fascination of decorative arts and the preservation and presentation of nature under glass domes, cabinets and cases. Its nearly here! In just a few days I will be exhibiting a selection of my work at Ness Botanic Gardens. As well as my original textile art there will be limited edition prints, cards and brooches on sale. Ness Botanic Gardens visitor centre is open daily 10.00 - 5.00pm, I will be there from 10.00am until 4.00pm every day so please come along and say hello.
